‘We’re Working On A Political Solution To Secure Release Of Nnamdi Kanu’

Member representing Umuahia North, Umuahia South and Ikwuano federal constituency at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon Obi Aguocha, has said that he is optimistic about the possibility of a political solution to secure the release of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

‎In an interview with Don 103.7 Fm in Umuahia on Monday, Hon Obi Aguocha explained that while the Nnamdi Kanu team wait for the court ruling on the no-case submission made, that they are working hard to ensure there is a political situation, since according to him legal proceedings alone is not enough.

‎Hon Aguocha emphasized that the Nnamdi Kanu team succeeded in accelerating the trial to the point that the prosecutor has rested its case, while the judgment on the defence team no-case submission is expected to be delivered on October.

‎He said that in the event the court feels otherwise or that based on the circumstances there is a case to answer, then the Kanu team will open up a defence, adding that within this period they are exploring how to reach a political solution.

‎Hon Aguocha regretted that Kanu has spent 10 years facing prosecution, advising that it is in the best interest of the All Progressives Congress government to consider their plea to ensure that Kanu is released to dispel the notion about Igbo subjugation.
